My children’s book and song continued to stay strong after my book release party last year. I then made the decision to sell my house which I lived in for a quarter of a century. It was a long process to sell it, and it was a mountain of work to actually move. I got settled into my condo nicely … and then COVID 19 struck … just another temporary setback.
I continued to have this voice inside my head saying “keep going,” so I decided to make a promotional video. I was talking to a friend of mine a couple weeks ago and told her how great the video turned out. I said “I want to get my book into Dolly Parton’s hands. She could hear the passion in my voice. She said “Well, I think I can help you take a step towards your goal,” and she asked me to send my video to her.
A few days later, I received a call from Ellen Galles from KSTP. She said “I want to pitch this story to the station.” She said “I can’t make any promises but if for some reason it doesn’t happen, it’s not because I don’t believe in you.” What a sweet thing to say!
I received a text the next day saying “Can we come to your place at Noon to cover your story? How exciting! KSTP aired my store five times!
